TATE MODERN COMMISSION

COMMISSION TO INTERPRET THE PAINTING
WHAAM!  by  ROY LICHTENSTEIN
IN THE STYLE OF MY SCULPTURED PAINTINGS

Marcus Horley, Tate Modern's Curator of Access Projects, commissioned me to create a raised
image painting of a major work from its collection, for use on Touch Tours for
blind and visually impaired visitors.

PRESS RELEASE

Click here, or on the image to the left, to read TATE MODERN's press release for
 my commission:-
"Artist Heather Bowring has used her acclaimed painting technique
to produce a touchable copy of Whaam! by American pop artist Roy Lichtenstein."

Click here, or on either image to the left, for more details on the painting, and to see
all the photos of the painting being formally handed over to Marcus Horley.

Millions of dots on this painting!  If you can guess how many then you are truly sad,
sad, sad. Then multiply the number by 3, and that's how many I had to paint - going
mad, mad, mad!  Click here, or on the image to the left, to find out how it all went!
